The Red Ballet

This is the first build of the horror visual novel The Red Ballet, currently some 30.000+ words. The game will expand over time.

This game is only intended for adults.

Sid is a rat working a dead-end job at the corner store. But on the other side of the street is the ballet theatre, The Red Ballet. He dreams of being on that stage with the graceful ballerinas and ballerinos, but who would want to see a rat flail around his ugly tail? 

His life starts to change when he meets Emilio, the easygoing goat stagehand, and the intimidating bear Misha, who runs the ballet. 

In a world that does not look kindly on the big dreams of a small rodent, can Sid find his swan feathers, or will he remain the simple prey the world tells him he is? 

And can he survive the dance of The Red Ballet's sinister secrets?

Sid dreams of being a dancer, a dream that seems impossible for a rat.

Misha owns The Red Ballet. He offers Sid the world, but being the target of his affection may be more than Sid can handle.

Emilio works as a stagehand at The Red Ballet. Sid feels a connection with the goat, but something seems... off?

Awa is Sid's best friend and roommate. Always one breath away from a dirty joke, she keeps Sid sane(ish).

Thanin is the primo ballerino at The Red Ballet and friend of Emilio.

(Also, hi! This is the first build of The Red Ballet, which includes the common route, and the start of Emilio's and Misha's routes. I am currently developing this game by myself, creating the story, most of the art assets, and music. Some CGs are... well, they're in the game lmao. I have pretty much been learning how to draw while making this over the span of 7(?) months while also being in uni so they may need some replacements at some point. But I kinda ate with the newest version of the sprites :P

-Note: The Android version isn't as thoroughly tested and may miss some things at this point but it doesn't crash for me so yay(?)

-Note to users of the self-voicing accessibility feature/screen reader native to Ren'py: I have tested things and it mostly seems to work. It seems confused about the name Awa, and there is one small section that will be annoying which I can hopefully fix in a later build.
