The Red Ballet: Build 6 Released


Hey.

The rest of what was planned for Emilio's previous update (before the new sprites took priority) is now here! It consists of 20K words, and if you did not play the standalone version of Eternity, now is the time to do it -  it is unlockable to be added in the VHS collection! So 30K words in total. With this, the game has passed the 150K words mark, and both routes are at the point where they will ramp up in intensity.

The update has 5 dynamic CGs (not counting Eternity's), multiple backgrounds, and a lot of visual effects to present scenes more cinematically. 3 new sprites are added, and certain characters have more expressions. And new music, of course.

A small intro has been added to the beginning of the game. This is mostly to prime new players to expect the game's vibe to feel off, as confusion about whether that vibe is intentional seems to affect a lot of people's experience negatively. (I don't know, the subtlety of my writing is doing too good of a job I guess ;_; )Most sprite transitions have also been changed to the more seamless one.

The next update will - finally, for many I'm sure - focus on Misha's route. It will likely be the largest update yet, and require a metric fuckton of art, so scrounge up some patience. Especially as I will be making art and music for a collaborative project during the May Wolf game jam. Look forward to horror, just not written by me!
